What
you learn: An introductory/intermediate level course for professional
designers, architects, engineers and others seeking professional
advancement through acquiring computer design skills. At the conclusion
of this class, participants with previous AutoCAD experience will
be able to apply new AutoCAD 2008 commands for 2D design projects
and will be qualified to enroll in the Advanced Working Drawings
and 3D AutoCAD classes, if their experience is proven in the Upgrade
Class.
Prerequisite: Fundamental working knowledge of the Windows environment
and AutoCAD or instructor approval.
Course Description: This is a hands-on upgrade training session
for AutoCAD 2008. AutoCAD is the dominant Computer-Aided Design
and Drafting program in the world. The course will utilize lectures,
hands-on demonstrations and lab exercises to familiarize participants
with the enhancements to the AutoCAD commands and menu systems.
The course covers commands relevant to two-dimensional drafting
and 3D modeling techniques. At the conclusion of the course, students
will be able to continue their professional use of AutoCAD, using
many of the new features and tools incorporated in AutoCAD 2008
for 2D design projects and will be qualified to enroll in the Working
Drawings and the advanced CAD Project Managemnt course.
Course
Project: This course is being taught in a combined lecture/lab environment.
A typical class period will involve the instructor's direct prompting
the students on the computer through a series of steps until thorough
comprehension of and execution of that command is demonstrated.
Grading:
Class participants will receive a grade for their contributions
to the class. There will be quizzes and tests to ensure that class
participants fully understand the topics being presented.
Open
labs: Open labs are available for use in completing homework assignments
and for additional "practice time" by the class participants.
There is an additional cost for using open labs. Please contact
us to receive that information.
